Atlanta Hawks Make Risacher No. 1 Pick in NBA Draft

Promising French Big Man Joins Young Hawks Squad

Risacher Could Become Cornerstone of Hawks' Future

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Atlanta Hawks selected French big man Zaccharie Risacher with the first overall pick in the NBA Draft on Wednesday night. Risacher, a 6'10", 240-pound center, is considered one of the most promising prospects in this year's draft.

Risacher played for JL Bourg in the French League last season, where he averaged 12.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, and 2.5 blocks per game. He is known for his athleticism, defensive versatility, and ability to stretch the floor with his shooting range.

The Hawks are a young team with a bright future. They finished the 2022-23 season with a 29-53 record, but they have a number of talented players, including Trae Young, Dejounte Murray, and John Collins.

Risacher is expected to be a major contributor to the Hawks immediately. He has the potential to be a franchise cornerstone and could help lead the Hawks to their first NBA championship in over 50 years.
